University of Maryland University College’s Career Services and Alumni Relations team recently hosted a virtual Recruiter Session with State of Maryland, Verizon, CACI, Leidos, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. More than 150 UMUC alumni and students chatted with recruiters from these premier employers to learn more about possible career opportunities.
UMUC’s Career Services and Alumni Relations team hosted a Virtual Recruiter Session on December 13th, 2016. More than 130 UMUC alumni and students attended. The event featured employers BAE Systems, Blue Sky Innovative Solutions, and AT&T. The event was hosted online and gave students and alumni the opportunity to chat with recruiters from each organization and showcase their LinkedIn profile and/or resume.
Last night, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted its cybersecurity Recruiter Session with more than 120 attendees both in-person and online. Employers present at the event included General Dynamics Mission Systems, T. Rowe Price, Deutsche Bank, SC3 and Maryland National Air Guard. The event was hosted at the UMUC Academic Center in Largo and online. The event gave attendees information and insight into the various career opportunities and work culture within the cybersecurity departments.
On September 26, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted more than 150 attendees both in-person and online during September’s Recruiter Session that included representatives from GEICO, American Diabetes Association, Randstad and UMUC Human Resources.
In an effort to further connect students and alumni to job and career opportunities, on June 29, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted more than 450 attendees both in-person and on-line at two Recruiter Sessions (morning and afternoon) featuring the CIA at the UMUC Academic Center in Largo and online. The purpose of the event was to connect students and alumni with recruiters from the various career fields within the CIA including data science, application developer, engineering, telecommunications, information system officer, student programs and analyst. Recruiters also discussed other career opportunities and internships within the agency that included human resources, communications, and much more.
On May 25, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted more than 150 attendees both in-person and on-line at a Recruiter Session that included Hewlett Packard Enterprise, FEMA, Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correction Services, and Inter-Con Security at the UMUC Academic Center in Largo and online. The purpose of the event was to connect UMUC students and alumni with recruiters from the various career industries including public safety, information technology, cybersecurity, and emergency management and homeland security. Recruiters discussed various career opportunities and internships that they are currently looking for fill.

Throughout the month, we are highlighting the University’s public safety experts to examine career and industry trends, and provide students and alumni a chance to learn about different career paths within this industry.
