In an effort to further connect students and alumni to job and career opportunities, on June 29, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted more than 450 attendees both in-person and on-line at two Recruiter Sessions (morning and afternoon) featuring the CIA at the UMUC Academic Center in Largo and online. The purpose of the event was to connect students and alumni with recruiters from the various career fields within the CIA including data science, application developer, engineering, telecommunications, information system officer, student programs and analyst. Recruiters also discussed other career opportunities and internships within the agency that included human resources, communications, and much more.
The recruiters began with an interactive introduction by lead CIA recruiter Monica B. Monica and her team then shared information and insights about the culture within the agency and what skills they look for in potential job candidates. The session also included time for questions and answers from the attendees.
In-person attendees also got the opportunity to engage in a “speed networking” component after the presentation meeting one-on-one with CIA recruiters from each department representing various career fields.
“We’ve always had much success recruiting from UMUC with high turnouts to events,” said CIA lead recruiter Monica B. “We are extremely pleased with the quality of the candidates which has resulted in a large number of interviews.”
