Recruiter Session Featuring The Walt Disney Company, ICF International and StateFarm

On April 21, UMUC’s Career Services team hosted more than 150 attendees during a Recruiter Session that included The Walt Disney Company, ICF International and State Farm at the UMUC Academic Center in Largo and online. The purpose of the event was to inform students and alumni of the various career opportunities within each organization. Each recruiter discussed the various career opportunities at each of their organizations including full-time employment and internship opportunities across a variety of industries to cybersecurity, business, communications, and more.

The session kicked off with a panel discussion where recruiters shared insights about the culture within each of their organizations, and what skills they look for in potential job candidates. They also discussed how to navigate the application process for their current job openings. The session also included time for questions and answers from the attendees and recruiters.

A few of the participating employers shared the following comments:

“We were extremely impressed with the turnout from the past two events with UMUC,” said Leslie Taylor, ICF International recruiter. “We love the quality of attendees and we are working to extend offers as a result.”

“The quality of my conversations with the attendees was great,” said Mandy Seligman, campus recruiter for The Walt Disney Company. “I am very excited to receive resumes of the attendees after the event.”
