Over 50 & Job Searching Webinars

Join UMUC Career Advisor, Rhoda Smackum, on Wednesday, August 12 to learn tips and techniques for those over 50 whom are job searching. The session will be offered in the afternoon as well as in the evening.

Many mature employees, age 50 or older, approach the job search with a defeated attitude. Prejudice against older workers can still be a factor in the market and workers over 50 should be prepared to convince prospective employers that they aren’t too old to learn new things and they have the energy to work as hard as people in their 20s. Companies are looking for workers who can easily adapt to change, have current skills, learn new things and are technology savvy.

The Over 50 Job Searching webinar is about providing key strategies and tactics for job-searchers over fifty that can help them get that job. Attendees will gain insight on what to do to present their candidacy in a way that counters the stereotypes, learn tips on how to present themselves on a resume, identify key principles to landing a job, and the typical mistakes jobseekers make and how to avoid them.

There are two available times to participate in this webinar. Click on the following links to register.
